More snookers and billiards players will emerge from Tamil Nadu and prove their mettle in national and international matches, said Tamil Nadu Snookers and Billiards Association (BFSI) President Balasubramaniam here on Thursday.
Addressing the media after distributing prizes to the winners in the recently concluded 38th State Ranking Championship matches in different venues in Chennai, Balasubramaniam said the winners worked hard to chew the success. Their work with determination had bestowed them success. He also expressed his hope that more numbers of players would emerge from Tamil Nadu in future.

Balasubramaniam is optimistic that the Association’s demand for land allocation for building and construction of sports facilities will be heeded by Tamil Nadu government. The Association office-bearers had recently met the Chief Minister M K Stalin and handed over a representation in this regard.
He also praised the Tamil Nadu government for supporting international sports activities, particularly the recently held Chess Olympiad.
Over 200 players enthusiastically participated in the 38th State Ranking Championship held in various venues in Chennai which was organized by the Tamil Nadu Snookers and Billiards Association.
Prior to this, various snooker and billiards matches were conducted at junior and sub-junior level as a part of the championship at various places in Tamil Nadu for both boys and girls, said B G Muralidharan
Sub junior category comprised players below the age of 18, junior category witnessed players above 18 and 21 years competing to win prizes. President of BFSI Balasubramaniam and treasurer Rathan Kumar was the chief guest for the felicitation ceremony where the winners of the final match received prizes along with certificates and plaques.
BFSI Treasurer Rathan Kumar and office-bearers of Tamil Nadu Snookers and Billiards Association were also present.
