R ARIVANANTHAM

Actor Sasikumar known for his village-based roles and commercial entertainers, appears an alien in city-based films occasionally, played role of an elder brother vows to fulfil his vengeance against a gang that brutally murdered his younger brother is the film tells all about.

The film is a collaboration between actor-director Sasikumar and filmmaker Satya Siva of ‘Kazhugu’ fame. The film has Vikranth as the antagonist and Hari Priya as the female lead.

  • The director’s skill to continually delaying the hero-villain showdown until the perfect time is the film’s biggest asset; otherwise, it would have become a standard commercial film.

Sasikumar tries his hardest in this film, which is entirely set against metropolitan surroundings. Though Hari Priya appears in a limited role, she has done justice to her character.

The positive aspects of this film, Satya Siva’s script deserves praise. The film’s running time of almost 2 hours keeps the viewers intact. He aims to deliver a unique stroke in a few sequences to demonstrate his screenwriting prowess. This covers the introduction of the villain characters, all pointing to the same scene, and culminating with the debut of Vikranth. While the first half is filled with exciting scenes, the second half emphasises emotions through the eyes of family members. Director Satya Siva has successfully matched horrific brutality with family sentiments. His skill to continually delaying the hero-villain showdown until the perfect time is the film’s biggest asset; otherwise, it would have become a standard commercial film.

Sasikumar does his hardest to give his all to the part, although he appears emotionless in a few instances. This is an emotional play, and we need to see the face emotions reflecting those moments, but he chooses Subramaniapuram shades. Ghibran’s BGM adds value to the film. The cinematography in the action sequences is excellent, although some of the aerial vistas appear unnecessary. Editing is acceptable. One of the most important aspects of appeal is action choreography.

The director-cum-producer Satya Siva has written a compelling plot that keeps the viewers until the end of the film interested. Though the film has strong family sentiments, the film is not for family audience, as it may be a takeaway for gory violent action.
