AHMEDABAD, DEC 26

A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was allegedly beaten to death in the Nadiad district of Gujarat after he objected to an obscene video of his daughter which was circulated online.

The accused teenager who posted video of the soldier’s daughter is a student of the same school attended by the girl, it said.

It added both the accused and the girl in a relationship.

The incident took place when the BSF jawan, Meljibhai Vaghela, went to the house of a 15-year-old boy in Chaklasi village on Saturday, and complained to his family about his daughter’s objectionable video being circulated online by the boy. Vaghela went there with his son Navdeep and his wife.

However, the family members of the teenage boy started abusing them. When the jawan objected, they attacked him with sticks and sharp objects. They also attacked his son.

The BSF jawan died on the spot while his son sustained injuries to the head and is undergoing treatment.

A case has been registered under sections 302, 307, 322, 504, 143, 147 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and further investigation is underway.
