Green Corridor: Heart from Madurai brought to Kauvery Hospital, Chennai within 2 hours

A closely coordinated Green Corridor created by the Airport Authority of India (AAI), Madurai City Traffic Police and Chennai City Traffic Police helped the heart harvested from brain dead patient in Madurai reached Kauvery Hospital, Alwarpet  in Chennai within two hours on Wednesday.

The heart of a 32 year old brain dead patient in a private hospital, Madurai was retrieved and transported via a chartered flight to Chennai Kauvery Hospital for a transplant on Wednesday morning.

The Green Corridor created by the Traffic wing of the Chennai City Traffic Police helped the organ to reach Kauvery Hospital from the Domestic terminal of the Chennai Airport within 15 minutes.

The Kauvery Hospital management thanked the gesture and swift action of AAI, Madurai City Traffic Police and Chennai City Traffic Police for their timely help to a save life waiting for the organ.
