Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday distributed about 71,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits via video conferencing. The Prime Minister also addressed these appointees on the occasion.

“The ports sector is developing. The health sector is also becoming the best example of employment generation. Every infrastructure project is generating employment opportunities. Farm mechanisation has increased in the Agriculture sector which has increased job opportunities in the rural area,”said PM Modi.

“Till 2014 there were 74 airports in India, now there are 148 airports. Due to the increase in airports, new employment opportunities have also opened up,”  PM Narendra Modi further said.

The Southern Railway organized the Rozgar Mela programmes in Chennai and Tiruchchirappalli (Tamil Nadu) and in Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad (Kerala). 200 fresh recruits received the appointment letters at each of the above locations for induction in various posts in Central Govt. Ministries/Departments.

John Barla, Minister of State for Minority Affairs participated in the function held in Chennai at Dr. Ambedkar Arangam,Konnur High Road ICF Colony, Chennai .  The Minister interacted with the new appointees and distributed appointment letters to 25 personnel who are among the 262 new appointees who received the appointment letters in Chennai on Thursday.

Ajay Bhatt, Minister of State for Defence & Tourism participated in the function held in Tiruchirappalli at Rail Mahal, Trichy.  The Minister interacted with the new appointees and distributed appointment letters to 25 personnel who are among the 243 new appointees who received the appointment letters in Trichy.

At Thiruvananthapuram, the Rozgar Mela was held at Rail Kalyana Mandapam, Thampanoor.  V Muraleedharan, Union Minister of State for External Affairs & Parliamentary Affairs  participated and distributed the appointment letters to 25 personnel among 210 appointees who received their appointment letters in Thiruvananthapuram.  He also interacted with the new recruits.

At Palakkad,  A Narayanaswamy,  Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment participated and distributed the appointment letters to 25 personnel among 232 appointees who received their appointment letters at Rail Kalyana Mandapam, Palakkad.  He also interacted with the new recruits.

RN Singh, General Manager, Kaushal Kishore, Additional General Manager, Southern Railway, BG Mallya, General Manager, Integral Coach Factory,  Ganesh, DRM, Chennai participated in the Rozgar Mela events held in Chennai. Divisional Railway Managers of Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram and Tiruchchirappalli participated in the events held in their respective venues.  Senior officials from other Central Govt. departments such as ISRO, Banks, Border Security Force, CRPF, Department of Posts, Geographical Survey of India, attended the Rozgar events held in all the four locations in Southern Railway.

In this connection, Rozgar Mela function over Western Railway were organised at Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot and  Ratlam. Total 4,360 newly inducted recruits in Western Railway were handed over with their appointment letters. Out of these, 559 appointments are in Group C while 3801 appointments are in Level 1. In addition to appointees to Indian Railways, the appointment letters to the recruits to other Government Departments / Organizations/ PSUs such as India Post, Revenue Department, State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, etc were also distributed.

Purushottam Rupala, Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying will be present at Rajkot along with other dignitaries. About 190 recruits will be present at the event, out of which 70 recruits are from Railways.

Darshana Jardosh, Union Minister of State for Textile & Railways will be present at Vadodara venue along with other dignitaries. About 340 recruits will be present at the event, out of which 305 recruits are from Railways.

Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Environment, Forest and Climate Change will be present at Ahmedabad along with other dignitaries. About 913 recruits will be present at the event, out of which 873 recruits are from Railways.
