As a part of this historic Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam event, 34 artists/artisans have showcased their artworks at the stalls set up on the seashore displaying the rich art and culture of Saurashtra and Tamil Nadu. Among them, one is the NaMo app stall which has an exhibition of books written on the biography of one of the most popular leaders and world-renowned personalities Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Giving information on Live Selfie Point set up for visitors, a volunteer Chandrika Solanki said that, visitors can click a live selfie and can get the picture in their smartphone at the stall itself. Visitors can also visit the NaMo app stall and download a digital copy of it. Moreover, a selfie can be clicked on the screen with the mascot of ‘Modi Story’ and it can be received instantly on one’s phone through technology.
Apart from the NaMo app stall, the exhibition here has many other art and artists’ works on display.

Gujarat State Lalit Kala Academy, Department of Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities organized Sand Shilp Maha Mahotsav in Somnath. Speaking about Sand Shilp Maha Mahotsav, Secretary of Gujarat State Lalit Kala Academy TR Desai said that Lalit Kala Academy organizes various activities to provide encouragement to the artists of Gujarat out of which Sand Shilp is one such activity. This activity is very much popular in coastal areas. The Mahotsav has been celebrated earlier in Porbandar’s Madhavpur fair, Dwarka and Somnath, he added.
As many as 34 artists participated in this Mahotsav and created excellent works through their creativity which became a center of attraction among tourists. 15 unique sculptures along with sculptures depicting the logo of Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam, a Sculpture of Lord Ganesha, G20, Sculpture of Nataraja were the main attractions on display prepared by different artisans.

Abhijit Magdum, a resident of Kolhapur in Maharashtra and serving in the Jamnagar Army Force said, “I have come here today to visit Somnath Mahadev. Shilp Maha Mahotsav has been organized with context to Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam which indeed is a pleasant work. Different sculptures portraying Lord Shiva, and Lord Ganesha have been prepared which is something unique.”
