A total of nine IPS probationers with Intelligence Bureau (IB) visited the Indian Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (North West) at Gandhinagar on Wednesday.

They were sensitized on various security challenges which emerge through the sea route and role of the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) in mitigating these challenges during the presentation-cum- interaction programme. Statutory Duties, Functions and Capabilities of ICG were explained through interactive sessions and salient points of maritime and coastal security and importance of inter-agency coordination was explained in detail.
Apart from the capsule being presented by experienced ICG officers, the IPS probationers also interacted with the Coast Guard Regional Commander, Inspector General AK Harbola, TM who emphasized on need for synergy of efforts between the agencies for achieving the national objectives.
