Chennai Super Kings batter Ambati Rayudu has announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League. The 37-year-old confirmed that the IPL 2023 Final between CSK and defending champions Gujarat Titans was his last game.

The CSK batter took to Twitter to announce his decision to retire post the IPL 2023 Final, saying he has truly enjoyed playing this great tournament, adding there won’t be any U-turns this time.

I have decided that tonight’s final is going to be my last game in the IPL. I truly have enjoyed playing this great tournament. Thank you all. No U-turn,” Rayudu posted on Twitter.Rayudu started his IPL career in 2010 with Mumbai Indians, and won his first title in 2013. He won two more titles in 2015 and 2017 before moving to CSK in 2018, where he won the title in his debut season with the franchise. The 37-year-old went on to win another title with CSK in 2021.
Rayudu has scored 4,329 runs in 203 matches in the IPL, at an average of 28.29, while striking at 127.29. He has hit 22 fifties and a solitary century in his glittering IPL career.
This season, Rayudu has chipped in with 139 runs in 15 matches, at a strike rate of 132.38. His best season in the competition came in 2018, when he scored 602 runs in 16 matches, at an average of 43, while striking at 149.75, and guiding CSK to the IPL title in his debut season for the franchise.
