To mark the 121st birth anniversary of Perunthalaivar and former Chief Minister K Kamaraj, Vijay Makkal Iyakkam will conduct welfare activities, including the launch of ‘Thalapathy Vijay Payilagam’ on Saturday, says a release.
“All fans have been urged to garland the statue of Perunthalaivar Kamarajar in all 234 assembly constituencies of Tamil Nadu. Free notebooks, pen, pencils and educational aids will be distributed among the needy students,” Bussy Anand, secretary of VMI said.
As an icing on the cake, ‘Thalapathy Vijay Payilagam’ will be inaugurated to facilitate the students to study at night in conducive atmosphere, the statement added.
Incidentally, all government and government-aided schools across Tamil Nadu observe ‘Kalvi Valarchi Naal’ (Educational Development Day) on July 15. The function is held every year in schools to mark Karmaveerar Kamarajar’s birth anniversary and educate children about the leader’s achievements.
