Kamatchi, a PhD Scholar of Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research, (Deemed to be University) Chennai and resident of Bossukudipatti near Mudukulathur in Ramanathapuram dist has won three medals in an international yoga event held last month.
From 24th to 26th June 2023, The Second Asian Yoga Sports Cup Championship took place at Bangkok in Thailand. The championship witnessed 125 yoga competitors from as many as 12 countries like India, Thailand, China, Hong Kong etc.
She won 2 gold medals by coming first in the two competitions (in a traditional yoga round held for those from age 24 to 28 and group yoga for 18 years and more). It is worth mentioning that she came third and took the Bronze medal in the Yoga Artistic Fair. It is also a motivation for rural talents in India.
It was organized by Yogasana Sports Federation of Thailand in collaboration with Yoga Sports Federation of India under the auspices of Asian Sports Yogasana Federation and Sharvaya Yoga International.
The competition ended with a spectacular closing ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand attended by various higher authorities from different countries.
