A special operation team of the Border Security Force (BSF) recovered 10 one-kilogram packets of charas and one packet heroin washed ashore on an island off the Gujarat coast, an official said on Monday.

Ten packets with a picture of rooster printed on them were recovered during the day from isolated Kundi bet about 11 km from Lakki off Jakhau coast in Kutch district, the force said in a statement.

The 10 packets of Charas have packaging of ‘Dark Supremo Black Coffee’ and were packed together in a yellow colour plastic bag. The lone packet of heroin was recovered few meters away packed in a white coloured plastic bag.
A Vollyball match was also organized at Govt Higher Secondary School, Hathla under the aegis of VIBRANT VILLAGE programme to promote sports activities among the school children and youth in the border area. pic.twitter.com/9IxvvVIU1T

Till date 50 packets of charas and nine packets of heroin have been recovered off Jakhau Coast since mid of April 2023. BSF Gujarat is on high alert all along its area of responsibility in view of upcoming Independence Day. Extensive search of the isolated bets off Jakhau coast have been launched by BSF, the statement added.
