The Raksha Run offered three different categories for participants to choose from based on their fitness levels and preferences. The first category was a 3-kilometre Run for female Athletes, suitable for beginners and those who wanted to enjoy a leisurely jog or walk. The second category was a 5-kilometre Challenge Run for Girl Athletes, designed for more experienced runners looking for a competitive edge. Lastly, there was a 10- and 5-kilometre category for male athletes seeking an intense endurance challenge.

Participants in each category were provided with official Raksha Run T-shirts and bibs to wear during the event. These items not only added to the sense of camaraderie but also served as souvenirs for participants to remember their participation in this memorable event.

The route took runners through various parts of the university campus, including lush green gardens, well-maintained sports fields, and iconic landmarks. The organisers ensured that the route was well-marked and equipped with hydration stations at regular intervals to keep participants refreshed and energised throughout the run.

The Raksha Run also served as a platform to raise awareness about national security and the importance of physical fitness in maintaining a strong and resilient nation. Along the route, banners and posters were strategically placed, showcasing messages related to national security and encouraging participants to stay fit and active for the betterment of the country. The event was sponsored by Decathlon, Sunshine, and Atri Enterprises.

At the finish line, participants were greeted with cheers and applause from spectators, fellow runners, and university officials. Medals and other goodies were awarded to all finishers as a token of appreciation for their dedication and perseverance. Additionally, the top performers in each category were recognised with special cash prizes, medals, and certificates during a closing ceremony held at the university’s Auditorium.

Prof. (Dr) Bimal N. Patel, Vice-Chancellor of Rashtriya Raksha University, expressed his gratitude towards all participants and organisers for making the Raksha Run a resounding success. He emphasised the importance of physical fitness in building a strong nation and commended everyone involved for their commitment to both personal well-being and national security.

The School of Physical Education and Sports at Rashtriya Raksha University plans to continue organising the Raksha Run annually, with the aim of promoting physical fitness, fostering a sense of community, and raising awareness about national security among individuals of all ages.

The school was established in 2017 in response to enhancing the standard of sports and training young aspirants who want to join and cater their lives in the security forces to serve the country.

It has been well established that to join or serve any of the security forces personnel requires good physical fitness, which includes all the fitness components such as endurance, strength, speed, agility, coordination, balance, reaction, and flexibility, as well as a variety of skills such as marching, weapon handling, sports skills, and many more. Keeping all these aspects in mind, the SPES majorly focuses on training to make the students and aspirants physically fit so that they can clear all those competitive examinations where clearing the physical fitness test is a criterion.

SPES exclusively focuses on the development of sports skills for all those students who want to make their career in sports or want to play professionally and ultimately want to bring laurels for themselves, the university, the state, and the country.
