In her address after the flag-hoisting ceremony, Sawhney emphasised the importance of adopting fundamental values such as sacrifice, hard work, honesty, character building, and cleanliness by all.

The cultural program commenced with a splendid rendition by students, narrating the saga of selfless martyrs and their sacrifices for freedom. The students also sang patriotic songs, filling the air with pure devotion and respect for the nation. An enthralling dance performance offered tributes to freedom fighters and defense personnel. Other activities showcasing students’ creativity, ingenuity, and imagination were also organised.

The air reverberated with the sounds of ‘Jana Gana Mana’ as more than 3,500 students from grades 1 to 8 and teachers collectively sang the national anthem. It was a poignant reminder of the anthem’s powerful message, calling upon the gathering to uphold the values of unity, diversity, and fraternity.

The collective singing of the national anthem served as a powerful metaphor for the diversity that defines India, underlining the significance of unity as one nation, regardless of differences.

The Independence Day celebrations effectively showcased DPS Bopal’s conviction that learning extends beyond books and instilled the spirit of patriotism, unity, and harmony among the students.
