DG Rakesh Pal, PTM, TM, Director General, Indian Coast Guard along with Dipa Pal, President Tatrakshika is visiting Gujarat for four days from Wednesday. Ths is his maiden visit to the North Western Region of Indian Coast Guard after becoming the DG.
As a part of the visit to the Region, which is strategically sensitive, the Director General will call on Senior State dignitaries to apprise on ICG operations and future development towards safeguarding Maritime interests of the Nation.
The Director General will also be visiting the ICG Regional Headquarters at Gandhinagar and District Headquarters at Porbandar and Okha, where he would review the operational preparedness and would interact with ICG personnel. Inspector General AK Harbola, TM, Commander of the North West Region will accompany the Flag Officer during the visit to these stations which are the nerve centres for units at forward locations, in the crucial region of Gujarat.
The DGICG will be chairing the national level Offshore Security Coordination Committee (OSCC) meeting at Ahmedabad on Friday which is an apex body dealing with the crucial facets of ensuring safety and security of oil rigs at sea and other off-shore assets. The DGICG is designated as the chairman of OSCC. High level echelons of various stakeholders will be attending the meeting.
