The Navratri festival began at Isha with remarkable Bharatnatyam performance by Isha Samskriti alumni – Janapriya, Padmaksha, and Roshini, who underwent rigorous and extensive Bharatanatyam training at Isha Sanskriti for more than 12 years, captivated the audience with their skillful and graceful dance movements on Sunday.
Every year, Navratri festival is celebrated in a grand fashion with religious fervor at Isha featuring a unique blend of devotional rituals at the Linga Bhairavi Devi and awe-inspiring cultural performances.
The program was inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony by Mr. M.N. Kandasamy, a former member of the Thondamuthur assembly, Mr. Gnanamani, a former trustee of the Poondi Velliangiri Andavar Temple, and Mr. Kumar, the President of Velliangiri Cultivator Producers Company.
A significant number of devotees also took part in the Linga Bhairavi Maha Aarti conducted in front of Dhyanalinga. The second day of the festival on Monday will witness Mr. Shivraj Rao and his team offering Kavadiyattam, a colourful ritual art made as an offering to Lord Subramanya.
