EPFO Ahmedabad RO requests all stakeholders to refrain from visiting office in person, encourages use of digital services

Given the spread of deadly coronavirus (COVID19), the Regional Office of Ahmedabad Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) appealed to all stakeholders – EPF members, employers and the general people not to visit the office in person until further notice. They can use the slew of digital services to stay connected with it, says an official release.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Manoranjan Kumar, Regional PF Commissioner-I, Regional Office, Ahmedabad, said, “One can make enquiries over phone, WhatsApp, emails or online portal of the EPFO utilizing the digital services from the comforts of his or her home in a hassle-free manner.”

“All are requested to use the following services like Whatsapp No. 7383146934/ 35, Call Centre (for All India): 1800118005 (Toll-Free No.), Land Line No: 079 27582700/ 2779, Email Address: ro.ahmedabad@epfindia.gov.in for all type of grievance through email, Online facilities provided for submission of grievance: EPFiGMS/ CPGRAM, Online facilities provided for submission of claims etc: (on website/ Umang app) and Dropbox facilities (one for the claim and another for other documents),” Kumar said in his statement.

“We regret the inconvenience caused to all concerned in this regard. However, we assure the members that this office would continue to do the public relations function without any reprieve through electronic and manual mode of papers,” Kumar added.

Accordingly, this office has taken all the necessary measures to discourage to the maximum extent to restrict the entry of visitors in the office complex and to suspend the issue of routine visitors/ temporary passes immediately. Only those visitors who have proper permission of the officer, who they want to meet, should be allowed after being properly screened.

It is assured that the public grievances will be attended to without fail and necessary acknowledgement will be provided through electronic mode of having received their status and other documents. If members still feel that their grievances are not attended, they may send emails to the email address above which is being closely monitored by the Regional PF Commissioner-I, Regional Office, Ahmedabad on daily basis regarding the difficulties they faced in the matter of disposal of their grievances, Manoranjan Kumar said.

Do’s

  • To maintain personal hygiene and physical distancing.
  • To practice frequent hand washing. Wash hands with soap and water or use alcohol-based hand rub. Wash hands even if they are visibly clean.
  • To cover your nose and mouth with handkerchief/tissue while sneezing and coughing.
  • To throw used tissues into closed bins immediately after use.
  • To maintain a safe distance from persons during the interaction, especially with those having flu-like symptoms.
  • To sneeze in the inner side of your elbow and not to cough into the palms of your hands.
  • To take their temperature regularly and check for respiratory symptoms. To see a doctor if you feel unwell (fever, difficulty in breathing and coughing). While visiting the doctor, wear a mask/cloth to cover your mouth and nose.
  • For any fever/flu-like signs/symptoms, please call State helpline number or the 24×7 helpline number of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare at 011-23978046.

Don’ts

  • Shake hands.
  • Have close contact with anyone, if you’re experiencing cough and fever.
  • Touch your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Sneeze or cough into palms of your hands.
  • Spit in Public.
  • Travel unnecessarily, particularly to any affected region.
  • Participate in large gatherings, including sitting in groups at canteens.
  • Visit gyms, clubs and crowded places, etc.
  • Spread rumours or panic.
