CHENNAI, NOV 5

In an effort to facilitate knowledge sharing and showcase cutting-edge advances in Assisted Reproductive Treatment, The Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction (ISAR), the largest Fertility Society in the World established in 1991, in conjunction with Gujarat Chapter of ISAR, hosted the three-day National ISAR 2023 Embryology, a key conference for clinicians an embryologists here from Friday to Sunday. The three-day meet synchronizes all stakeholders related to fertility for the benefit of practicing clinicians and embryologists and shine light on advances in Assisted Reproductive Treatment for improved patient outcomes among childless couple as 17 percent population of India is facing infertility issue.

Speaking with the media, Gujarat University Vice Chancellor Neerja A Gupta said, “Our country was practicing ART (assisted reproduction technology) right from the age of Mahabharata. Research have shown that our medical practitioners were experts in fetal orgasm, pseudocyesis and assisted reproductive technology, including assisted insemination by donor, induction of ovulation, and in vitro fertilization as well as precocious growth and intersex. Embryology it is not only possible to bring a child through IVF but also we can reduce the ratio of kids born with any disability. To give the joy of parenthood to we have introduced a special course on Embryology for medical practitioners and clinicians last year.”

Padma Shri Dr. Kamini A Rao, one of the country’s most reputable names in the sphere of Assisted Reproduction and High-Risk Obstetrics from Bengaluru, said, “With the advancement in ART, devices and diagnosis methods coupled with genetic research, the treatment for infertility is becoming within the reach of large number of childless couple. Assisted Reproductive Technology Market was valued at more than USD 35 billion in 2022 and is poised to grow significantly at over 6.5% CAGR from 2023 to 2032 driven by the rising prevalence of infertility worldwide. “

National ISAR 2023 Embryology Organized Informative Talk Shows, panel discussion for 800 National and 10 International Faculties in Ahmedabad from Friday to Sunday.

They deliberated actively on the feast of knowledge and practical applications of embryology in the ART laboratory to achieve a final clinical outcome and take home babies so anxiously desired by the infertile patients who comprise 17% of population.

On the second day of this conference on Saturday,  Dr. Nimish Shelat, Dr. Dharmesh Kapadia, Dr. Mehul Damani, Dr. D G Patel, Gujarat Medical Council. and Dr. R. G. Patel  said, “Nowadays people are marrying late, drinking alcohol and smoking, increasing obesity due to junk food and sedentary life, increasing infertility rate while people are turning to IVF, IUI treatment to get better and cheaper facilities. It was discussed in the conference. Many times children with code defects are born. When children with Down syndrome are born, how can it be prevented? Apart from developing good embryos, good results can be given, how can bad embryos be isolated? Besides, practical training on how to prevent good infertility, as well as any new technology that is coming, are being shared  in this conference.”

As is the relationship of Surgeon with the Anesthetist, for successful surgery , so is the bond between the Clinician and Embryologist for pregnancies and live births . Both are the sides of the Same Coin on whom successful fertility care depends , whether its IUI, IVF , ICSI, Cryopreservation , PGTor PGD .
