AHMEDABAD, DEC 1

As part of the events leading to Bicentenary Celebrations of Regiment of Artillery, Konark Corps will flag off a cycling expedition from Vigokot Fort in Gujarat on Sunday-December 3, says a Defence release.

This expedition will cover a distance of 1,200 kms and travel through 52 border villages of Gujarat and Rajasthan to promote the spirit of adventure and spread awareness about Agnipath Scheme amongst the youth.

42 soldiers are participating in the expedition, which will culminate at Longewala War Memorial on Saturday, December 16, 2023 on the occasion of Vijay Diwas.

The expedition aims to enhance outreach and motivate youth to join Armed Forces.  To educate youth about Agnipath Scheme, interactive sessions will be organized to provide information of various aspects during visit to border villages. The participants will motivate students and younger generation to take up the profession of Armed Forces and serve the nation with pride.

The participants in the rally will also distribute pamphlets containing entitlements to the Ex-Servicemen and express gratitude to Veer Naris for their sacrifice by felicitating them at various locations.
