The primary objective of Mera Yuva Bharat is to make the portal a platform of the central government for youth development. Under the new arrangement, with access to resources & connection to opportunities, youth would become change agents and nation builders allowing them to act as the Yuva Setu between the Government and the citizens. The initiative seeks to harness the immense energy of the youth for building a developed India by 2047, he added.

Over 1.4 lakh youth from Tamil Nadu have registered in the MY Bharat portal where they will be sharing their real-life experience through ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’.

There should be desire and fire in the belly of the youth to make India self-reliant and a developed nation. They should take inspiration from the lives of lakhs of youth who sacrificed their life to make India Independent.

Aatmanirbhar Bharat is not a mere slogan but a mantra to bring a paradigm shift to make India as a manufacturing base for the world. We have listed out the focus areas of the government, said the minister and continued to explain that the policies being implemented will help in generating higher per capita income, better infrastructure facilities and improving the happiness index of the country in a big way.

He said that the yatra has already reached about 2.5 crore people and the beneficiaries have shared their experiences on how policies of government have brought about a massive change in their lives in the last 10 years. He said VBSY is being carried out as a Jan Bagidhari event. It is a largest ever outreach programme in the world which will cover urban and local bodies across the country reaching 1.4 billion people in the next two months, the minister added.

Stating that the budget allocation for the capital expenses has reached to the tune of Rs 10 lakh crore in the last 10 years, the minister said the pumping of money in the infrastructure projects have created a ripple effect in the economy leading to employment generation and self-employment.
