Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday performed ground breaking for the second phase of the university campus and dedicated Rs 481.32 crore worth development works at Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU). He launched four new projects at the Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Patel laid the foundational stone for the second phase of the university campus and inaugurated key initiatives such as the Atal Incubation Centre, the National IED Data Management System (NIDMS), and the Raksha Shakti School in the domain of national security and policing.

The event commenced by showcasing the various projects ongoing at Rashtriya Raksha University in collaboration with the stakeholders of the government and private partners by RRU officials in various National Security projects related to Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, and Disaster Management related projects. The important highlights also included the book launch of ‘Shaktidwani’, ‘365 Days RRU Coffee Table Book’, and ‘The History of Gujarat Police’. A diploma was awarded to DIG-NACP, Okha. Also, RRU Pasighat Campus student Naorem Roshibina Devi was felicitated for receiving the Arjuna Award 2023 for Wushu.

The Chief Minister, in his address, congratulated the armed forces personnel on the occasion of Indian Army Day. He reiterated the vision of Amrit Kaal as laid out by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the initiatives related to the strengthening of institutions, which eventually led to the idea of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat, & Viksit Bharat.” He iterated the significant contributions of Union Home Minister Amrit Shah and his contribution towards “zero tolerance” Policing. The CM emphasized the importance of nurturing the children towards National Security by inculcating discipline, patriotism, and many other values. He emphasized the Importance of AI Robotics, and Cyber Security in safeguarding the Amritkaal Bharat and reflected upon the visions of Viksit and Surakshit Bharat and the Role of the Atal Incubation Center.

Later, Education Minister Rushikesh Patel, reflected on the transformation from an import-led economy to an Atmanirbhar Bharat. He emphasized on the brief vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and how he envisages the future of National Security through Institutions like Rashtriya Raksha University, NFSU, and Raksha Shakti Schools. He emphasized the responsibility of youth in ensuring Atma Nirbharta and stated that India is embarking on a journey towards becoming the third largest economy. He emphasized Gandhinagar becoming the hub of technology and education in the field of National Security in Gujarat.
Vice Chancellor of RRU, Professor (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel, addressed the audience with the significance and scope of the projects and initiatives undergoing at Rashtriya Raksha University. He emphasized the commitment of RRU to fostering innovation, indigenization, research, and development towards safety, security, and policing for the future of India. He highlighted the significance of training the Raksha Shakti School students and preparing them for the future of the Nation in alignment with the Amrit-Kaal Vision as laid out by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah. The scope of world-class infrastructure in training for the security forces was also emphasized by him.
At last, the Pro-VC of RRU, Dr Kalpesh Wandra, thanked the Government for its unwavering commitment to supporting the development of Rashtriya Raksha University as an Institution of National Importance in the field of policing and internal security.
The presence of such esteemed dignitaries at that event highlighted the importance attached to that initiative by the central and state governments. The occasion was anticipated to mark a new chapter in the journey of Rashtriya Raksha University towards becoming a centre of excellence in innovation, research, and education in the field of National Security, Defence, and Policing.
