The Indian Army, in its ongoing commitment to community development and fostering a sense of nationalism, conducted an awareness campaign on Agnipath Scheme & joining the Indian Army. The event was held at remote border village Dhurva in Barmer district, Rajasthan.
It witnessed an enthusiastic participation from approximately 200 motivated students & 500 residents. Village Sarpanch & representatives of civil administration, including SDM, SDO, Chief Education Officer & Pradhans of adjacent villages were also present at this awareness drive
Recognizing the importance of education, the Indian Army distributed school bags and stationery items to support the academic endeavours of the students. In an effort to promote sports as an integral part of the nation-building, the Indian Army also distributed sports kits viz, volleyball with net and cricket kits. The aim was to encourage the youth to actively engage in sports, fostering a spirit of teamwork, discipline & physical fitness.

Agnipath Scheme
The Indian Army selects the Agniveers through the Agnipath Scheme. This scheme provides a golden opportunity for India’s youth to experience Army life without having to make a long-term commitment. The selected Agniveer will work in the Indian Army for four years.
It is expected that the Indian Army will fill more than 25,000 vacancies of Agniveers for various posts.
The candidates, who join through the Agnipath scheme will get Rs 21,000 in-hand salary during the first year of service, which will increase yearly. Apart from the salary they will get Rs. 10,04,000 “Seva Nidhi” package at the time of exit after four years. After successfully completing four years of service 25% of Agniveers will get permanent service based on organizational requirements.
All the candidates aged between 17.5 years to 21 years are eligible to apply for the Indian Army Agniveer.
Only unmarried male and female candidates will be eligible for enrolment as Agniveer and they shall undertake not to marry during the defined engagement period of four years.
The education qualification of the agniveer depends on the category for which they are applying.
The Indian Army Agniveer selection process consists of two stages. Stage 1 will be an online written test and Stage 2 will be a recruitment rally.

IAF opens Agniveer-Vayu recruitment, applications invited from eligible candidates
The Indian Air Force has begun inviting applications for the selection test for the recruitment of Agniveer- Vayu under the Agnipath scheme.
The eligible for the test are unmarried male and female candidates born between January 2, 2004 and July 2, 2007.
The aspirants can access the notification on the official website https://agnipathvayu.ac.in.
Online registration will be open from 11 am to 11 pm till February 6.
