Our efforts started yielding through increased yield or organic products such as – coconut, banana etc. Farmers’ income become multifold through our consistent and systematic training programmes, Sathish Kumar added.
Empowering farmers
One of the key highlights of this facility is its seamless integration with the farming community that works with Akshayakalpa in Pooriyampakkam. The unprocessed milk used in the production process is ethically sourced directly from local farmers who collaborate with Akshayakalpa.
Akshayakalpa empowers farmers through a unique closed-loop model. Farmers utilise Akshayakalpa’s training and support to transition to organic dairy farming, generating income from milk and dung-based biogas and manure. Akshayakalpa ensures fair prices, market access, and additional income streams like beekeeping and poultry, improving farmers’ lives beyond just milk production. This holistic approach fosters a sustainable future for both farmers and consumers. This not only ensures a direct and fair livelihood for the farmers but also contributes to the sustainability of the region’s agricultural practices.
