The actor has given Raju four days to comply with the notice as well as to tender an unconditional apology within 24 hours. She has also insisted that he publish the apology in reputed English and Tamil dailies (one each) that have a circulation of more than 5 lakh copies a day.
The actor, on Wednesday, took to social media platform X to express her disgust over the remarks. She wrote, “It’s disgusting to repeatedly see low lives and despicable human beings who will stoop down to any level to gain attention. Rest assured, necessary and severe action will be taken. Anything that needs to be said and done henceforth will be from my legal department.
The actor’s legal team has sent a defamation notice to the politician. And the actor shared the same on her X account. In the legal notice, her lawyers have asked the politician to compensate the actor monetarily for the mental agony the remarks caused her.
The notice also said that if Raju failed to take these actions, she would proceed with criminal and civil action against him. Soon after Trisha posted her comment, the politician said the media misinterpreted his comments, “I said about a woman who looks like actress Trisha and not actress Trisha. I apologise to everyone in the film industry including Trisha.”
