Jashn-e-Adab Sahityotsav, in association with the Union Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Tourism, for the first time conducted Sahityotsav Jashn-e-Adab Cultural Kaarva’n Virasat, one of the biggest cultural events for Hindustani art, culture and literature here on Friday and Saturday. This cultural extravaganza was organised at Shamiana, Rivera Sarovar Portico, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Accomplished Hindustani artists from various parts of the country participated and performed at this landmark cultural program which was free for all audiences.
Talking about the program, Kunwar Ranjeet Chauhan, Poet and Founder, Sahityotsav Jashn-e-Adab, said, “‘Sahityotsav Jashn-e-Adab Cultural Kaarva’n Virasat’is moving from one Indian state to the other connecting more and more people with the vibrant Hindustani art, culture and literature. Our Hindustani art, culture and literature go beyond entertainment. They have a soothing and therapeutic effect on people thus can help us in coping with our stressful fast-paced life. After the resounding success in many states across the country, we are delighted to reach the culturally rich Ahmedabad.”

We wanted to connect the Indian youth and showcase the vibrancy of our Hindustani art, culture and literature to them, giving them access to meaningful art. The two-day cultural program kept the audience engaged and entertained with some brilliant performances on both days:
Day 1-Friday
The program commenced with the play ‘Ghost Writer’ by Bombay Theatre Group. The promising Indian poets at the ‘Sheri Nashist’, touched the heartstrings of the audiences with their poems. Richa Jain and her group’s Kathak dance performance ‘Mi Raqsam’ kept the audience hooked with their graceful moves. ‘Holi Ke Rang – Vasant Utsav’ classical singing by Farheed Hasan Khan and Mehboob Hussain Khan took the day to the next level. The first day ended with the final performance of Sufi Singing by Rajeev Singh and group from Bhopal.
Day 2- Saturday
On the second day, the program began with Mehfil-e-Ghazal by Shakeel Ahmed of Dilli Gharana. Popular actor Vineet Kumar (Fame: Maharani) shared his insights in the panel discussion ‘Cinema and OTT – EkAina Kai Chehre’. Cherry on the cake was ‘Hori Rang’ in the mesmerising voice of Vidya Shah. A panel discussion on ‘Ye Dhua’n Sa Kahan Se Uthta Hai’ between the Iconic poets Farhat Ehsaas and Anas Faizi was held. Another engaging discussion on ‘Rangkarm Ka Samajik Prabhav Va Web Series Ki Prasangigta’ between well-known actors Atul Tiwari (Fame: 3Idiots and Maharani) and Vineet Kumar (Fame: Maharani) kept the audience entertained. The highlight of the day was the Mushaira and Kavi Sammelan featuring some of the best and most renowned wordsmiths of India – Farhat Ehsaas, Shamim Abbas, Jamuna Prasad Upadhyay, Ramesh Sharma, Madan Mohan Danish, Quaiser Khalid, Kunwar Ranjeet Chauhan, Tanveer Ghazi, Azm Shakiri, Javed Mushiri and Ramayan Dhar Dwivedi.
Kunwar Ranjeet Chauhan is an internationally acclaimed Shayar (Poet). He is the only civilian to be awarded the Peace Prize by Pakistan (twice).
This event has been organised across many states and UTs such as, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and, Jammu & Kashmir, and will be progressing to many more states and union territories as part of the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Kaal. The program embodies the essence of our country’s heritage which lives on in the form of Hindustani art, culture and literature.
