Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was given the traditional welcome by Vadodara Tamil Sangam here on Saturday.
Vadodara Municipal Corporation Councillor Mahalakshmi Sekar Chettiar, only elected representative of Tamils, has presented a memento to Sitharaman.
Vadodara Tamil Sangam general secretary Sekar Chettiar and president Kannan have extended a warm welcome to the Finance Minister.
Nirmala Sitharaman freely interacted with the Tamil community here. The interaction underscores the government’s commitment to inclusive governance, acknowledging the contributions and concerns of various communities towards the nation’s progress.
Sitharaman said, “BJP Governments led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Centre and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel have taken up efforts to preserve and propagate Tamil. Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam and Kashi Tamil Sangamam were held to bridge the nation. Further, PM Modi has undertaken a lot of welfare schemes for the betterment of women, youth, farmers and the poor. And above all transparency is the hallmark of BJP Government under the able leadership of Narendrabhai Modi.

Virudhunagar Lok Sabha BJP candidate and Tamil cine star Radhika Sarathkumar and her hubby Supreme Star Sarathkumar will address a public meeting near Jain mandir, Hatkeshwar Circle, Ahmedabad on April 21, Sunday, at 7 pm, says BJP State Media Convenor Dr Yagnesh Dave.
They will campaign for party candidates Amitbhai Shah, Gandhinagar; Dineshbhai Ghodarbhai Makwana, Ahmedabad West and Hasmukhbhai Somabhai Patel, Ahmedabad East.
