This is the brainchild of two Spiritual Sovereigns, Munishri Mohjitvijayji and Jainacharya Yugbhushansuriji, and a result of over 3 decades of unflinching, resolute teamwork with missionary zeal in the truest sense. The meticulously comprehensive and panoramic encyclopaedia, encompassing 4 out of 108 main subjects and 159 of the 15,000 sub-subjects, contains authentic Shastra quotations from more than a thousand Granths from Jainism and other religions.

The event which spread across 2 days, consisted of a hybrid (online and physical) panel discussion on Saturday and a religious procession-cum-inauguration on Sunday.

The hybrid panel discussion was attended by distinguished speakers from across the nation and world. Philanthropist Dr. Jaswant Modi, was the Chief Guest together with Former IB Chief Rajiv Jain as the Guest of Honour. His Holiness Cheena Jeeyar Swamiji also attended the panel discussion as Special Guest. Other distinguished Speakers present included Padmashree Awardee Kumarpal Desai, Dr. Sulekha Jain, Pravin K Shah (Chairman, Jaina-USA), Vinod Kapasi (Awarded OBE, UK), etc. The event was attended by Jain practitioners, leaders and researchers all over the world & by host of Jain scholars.

HH Cheena Jeeyar Swamiji while addressing the panel discussion was impressed by the volume of work done by Gitarth Ganga for release of its first book.

The esteemed speaker, Former Deputy NSA of India, currently Director, VIF, Dr. Arvind Gupta, recognizing the sheer scope and tremendous efforts of decades behind this work said, “You have accomplished something very rare and so useful for the future generations. You should share the secret of this model so that other people and groups in our country working in similar areas also benefit.

Former Director of Intelligence Bureau Rajiv Jain, remarked, “I was significantly inspired by the ground they have covered and the phenomenal work that they are doing. I quite agree that this work needs to go forward.”

On Sunday, the event commenced with a regal procession of ‘Arya Yug Vishay Kosh,’ on a bedecked elephant, a journey symbolising the legacy of ceaseless endeavours, at 6 am from Sheetalnath Swami Jain Temple of Dasha Porwad Sangh. It culminated at Bungalow No. 7 of Jain Merchant Society, where an insightful introductory sermon on Jain scriptures and its preservation, by His Holiness Jainacharya Yugbhushansuriji. Thereafter, the unveiling of the ‘Arya Yug Vishay Kosh’ was followed by its Poojan and befitting felicitation by the donor family.

During his address at the launch of ‘Arya Yug Vishay Kosh’ HH Jainacharya Yugbhushansuriji said, “Today, with rampant advancement of materialism, atheism is spreading by leaps and bounds. This has resulted in people breaking ties with their religions, religious scriptures and with their teachings. This has created SOS crises and calls to safeguard this and pass on to next generation. Gitarth Ganga is established with this goal and ‘Arya Yug Vishay Kosh’ is the first foundational publication in this direction. This great volume would go on to preserve with sophistication, the religions, their scriptures and its teachings and would pass on to next generations. This Granth would also be an important factor to revitalize soft power of India.

Over the next ten years, the institute is planning to publish 30 such volumes along the same lines covering the 15,000 sub-subjects. The unique feature of these volumes is that references for each of the 15000 subjects would be classified under 8 categories, which would provide a short introduction and basic understanding of each subject.
