As a tribute to the valour and sacrifices of heroes of Kargil War, the Indian Army has commenced a Pan-India Delta-5 Motorcycle Expedition today, a journey commemorating the 25th anniversary of Indian victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War of 1999. The expedition serves to showcase significant contribution and honour the legacy of our brave soldiers.
A Motorcycle Expedition in commemoration of Silver Jubilee of Kargil Vijay Diwas began from Dhanushkodi in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. The Southern Team, composed of eight riders, embarked on this historic journey on 12th of June 2024 from Dhanushkodi. These dedicated riders will traverse across diverse terrains and challenging routes, symbolising the unity and resilience of our armed forces.
The team started their journey at 08:00 am from Dhanushkodi Flagged Off by Major General RM Srinivas, Chief of Staff, Dakshin Bharat Area, to proceed to Kargil War Memorial in Dras via Manali in Himachal, Sarchu and Nyoma in Ladakh covering almost 4,000 km by road in remembrance of relentless spirit and dedication of our soldiers.
Wife of Veer Chakra Awardee Hav (Late) K Palani, Smt Vanathi Devi was felicitated during the event by the Chief Guest. The team with full vigour and zeal proceeded on their inspirational journey towards Madurai.
