AHMEDABAD, JULY 19
Stating that continuous self-improvement, embracing failures, life-long learning and unlearning will help all to bouncing back to growth trajectory, technocrat-turned-author Jagdip Punia, a professional with over 3 decades of experience in the MNC-run manufacturing industry, on Thursday dedicated his debut book “Rise to Your Full Potential” to the Indian police force here.
The self-help motivational book was launched on Thursday at the Ahmedabad Management Association on the initiative of Ahmedabad Book Club in the Karmabhoomi of the author. Also, the evening featured the celebrated author Jagdip Punia, who captivated the audience with an engaging discussion on his latest book. His eloquent storytelling and deep insights resonated with the attendees, sparking lively discussions and a profound appreciation for his work.
Born in Punjab, brought-up in Ahmedabad, served in many states likes, Maharashtra, UP, Delhi, Haryana, Daman, Rajasthan Andhra & Telangana, the author is a strong believer in continuous self-improvement, embracing failure & bouncing back.
A student of St Xavier’s College in Ahmedabad, author Jagdip Punia said, “The book is about Upskilling. It describes WHY and HOW of Rising to your full potential. It has step by step guide to progress, right from choosing the skills, planning and allocating resources, improving emotional quotient to managing fear and failure. It helps you to discover the abundance of resources around you.”
According to the author, today’s generation needs to adopt a “never settled attitude” and keep working hard. They don’t have to follow or don’t get have to get settled in any one thing. Instead of choosing comfort zone, the author thinks that people should continuously develop their career in new technology, skill, knowledge, different fields. The book gives the message “Choose Direction over Speed, Choose progress over perfection.”
The author felt that he could magnify the people around him, make people aware of the work and also found many successful results. He put his thoughts and opinions on paper and after 8-10 months of hard work the book is ready which is published by Notion Press, a publisher in Chennai. They helped him convert the notes into book.
To a query on what inspired him to pen this book, the author said, “I am a voracious reader and life-long learner. One of the books, ‘The Compound Interest’, has motivated me a lot. Initially, I started to boost the morale of my small group of staffers stating that they have great potential but not using them full. This has made tremendous impact on them and brought about the much-need transformation. This resulted in their personal as well as the growth of the organization in which they were serving. Thus the sprouted ideas germinated into a self-help motivational book. Now, this book is available in Kindle as well as print editions. Despite the onslaught of digitization, the joy of reading the printed books is limitless. To cater to the needs of regional language readers, I will bring this book in Gujarati, Punjabi and Hindi languages.”
Shraddha Ahuja Ramani, the president of the Ahmedabad Book Club said, “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Jagdip Punia for his inspiring presence and to all who attended and contributed to making this event a grand success. The Ahmedabad Book Club remains committed to fostering a vibrant literary community and looks forward to hosting more such enriching events in the future.”
