Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting of Shri Somnath Trust at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar on Sunday.
The Board of Trustees has appointed Vishad Padmanabh Mafatlal, chairman of Sadguru Seva Sansthan Trust, as trustee of the Somnath Trust. He is also executive chairman of Navin Fluorine international Ltd and is associated with many Mafatlal group companies.
Rajiv Katpaliya, architect of B V Doshi firm, briefed the PM about the 10-year development plan and ongoing works at the temple.
On his X account, Mr Modi mentioned that he reviewed ways to enhance the experience for pilgrims and further improve the various facilities.
“After memorable programmes in Jharkhand, landed in Ahmedabad a short while ago. I will be attending various programmes in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad tomorrow, 16th September. In the morning, will interact with beneficiaries of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and thereafter take part in the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investor’s Meet and Expo at Mahatma Mandir,” PM Modi wrote on X.
Earlier in the day, Modi reached his home state Gujarat on a two-day visit during which he will participate in a series of inaugurations and meetings.
Veteran BJP leader L K Advani and J D Parmar could not attend the meeting due to health issues.
Trustee of Somnath Temple Trust former Chief Secretary P K Laheri and Harshvadan Neotia were present in the meeting.
