North Gujarat Region Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav on Saturday announced that the Department of Posts is observing Swachhta Pakhwada from Saturday, November 16 to Saturday, November 30.
“Swachhta Pakhwada has been celebrated with great commitment and zeal in the Department of Posts since 2017 under the Swachh Bharat Mission. This year the Swachh Bharat Mission is set to reach the next level with theme “Swabhav Swachhta, Sanskar Swachhta” being adopted whole of the country and society during Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign. Under this theme, the Department of Posts will endeavour to enhance awareness about cleanliness, foster a sense of responsibility for cleanliness among all citizens, and cultivate cleaning habits as a social value during the Swachhta Pakhwada,” said Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General, North Gujarat Region, Ahmedabad.
Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav further said, “Swachhta Pakhwada presents the Department of Posts with a valuable opportunity to adopt cleanliness more efficiently and enhance both the quality of service and hygiene in post offices and local communities. As a leading department of the Government of India, a daily plan has been devised, under which various activities and programs will be organized. Swachhta Pledge Ceremony, plantation drive under the theme ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, Parbhat Pheries, and Special Cancellation featuring Swachhata focused messages on articles will be conducted by post offices and offices of Railway Mail Service in North Gujarat Region.”
Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav said that in addition to the planned activities, the Department of Posts will also organize other related initiatives to promote the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission and Mission LiFE, which will further strengthen India Post’s image as a responsible national organization.
It is noteworthy that Department of Posts, through its network of 1.65 lakh post offices and more than 4.5 lakh postal employees across the country, is fostering sustained, inclusive, and balanced socio-economic development.
