Renowned Gujarati singer and composer Purushottam Upadhyay, 90, passed away at his Mumbai residence on Wednesday. His demise marks the end of an era in Gujarati music, as fans and admirers mourn the loss of a legend.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the demise of legendary Gujarati singer Purushottam Upadhyay on Wednesday.
Modi in a post on X wrote:
“I am deeply shocked by the news of the demise of the legendary vocalist Purushottam Upadhyay, who kept the Gujarati language alive worldwide through smooth music. This is an irreparable loss for the art world. The vocal compositions in his melodious voice will always live on in our hearts.
