The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is set to bring revolutionary advancements in agriculture, healthcare, and elder care in India, remarked N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, at the Founder’s Day celebrations of Ganga Hospital here on Tuesday.

The event was held at Ganga Hospital’s auditorium on Mettupalayam Road, commemorating the hospital’s founders, Shanumuganathan and Kanakavalli. Dr. S. Rajasekaran, the hospital’s Director, welcomed the attendees, with Coimbatore Police Commissioner Balakrishnan presiding.

  • In his keynote address, N. Chandrasekaran spoke on the theme “Redefining Health and Heritage for a New India.”

Krishnan, Managing Director of Krishna Sweets, highlighted the contributions of the hospital’s founders and their vision for its growth. Dr. Rajasekaran elaborated on the hospital’s operations and services.

In his keynote address, N. Chandrasekaran spoke on the theme “Redefining Health and Heritage for a New India.” He noted the rapid growth of AI in India and its transformative impact on various sectors.

He emphasized that by 2050, India is projected to have the world’s largest elderly population, requiring innovative AI-driven solutions to meet their needs. He also highlighted AI’s potential in tackling major health challenges such as cancer and diabetes, predicting that AI technology will soon enable effective treatments for advanced stages of cancer.

In agriculture, AI could revolutionize crop production, reducing wastage and enhancing profitability by helping farmers shift towards cultivating high-value crops suited to market demands in collaboration with government initiatives.

A commemorative medal marking Founder’s Day was presented to the Tata Sons Chairman by the directors of Ganga Hospital.

The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Rama Rajasekaran and Nirmala Rajasekaran, hospital directors; former DGP A.K. Viswanathan; industrialists Krishna Raj Vanavarayar, Vanitha Mohan, K.P.R. Ramasamy, S.V. Balasubramaniam, and S.S.V.M. Mohandas; and GEM Hospital Chairman Palanivel. Dr. Thavamani Palanisami of NGP Educational Institutions was also among the distinguished guests.

During the session, N. Chandrasekaran answered several questions from industrialists and medical professionals, shedding light on AI’s evolving role in various sectors.
