Prin MC Shah Commerce College, Navgujarat Campus, organised a two-day intensive training programme on “Financial Education for Students” on 19-20 December 2024. Conducted in collaboration with the NISM–Kotak Securities Financial Literacy Project, the 10-hour course, Kona Kona Siksha, was designed for third-year students to enhance their financial competencies.
Seventy students attended the programme, which was led by Arun Chaubey, a certified trainer from NISM. The training focused on developing key skills such as understanding the importance of early investments and their long-term benefits, exploring various financial investment opportunities, mastering the investment process in primary and secondary markets, gaining an introduction to mutual funds, and discovering career prospects in the financial sector. Participants also learned about stock market dynamics, SEBI regulations, and the risk-return aspects of securities investment.
At the conclusion of the programme, students were awarded certificates, which will support their career advancement and placement opportunities in the financial sector. The event was successfully coordinated by Prof DB Bandhiya and Dr Margi Desai under the guidance of Dr ND Shah, Principal of the college.
