The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) marked the 11th International Day of Yoga with great zeal across all its stations in Gujarat on Saturday.
The Regional Headquarters (North West) led the yoga drive at Gandhinagar, while District Headquarters at Porbandar and Okha, along with ICG Stations at Veraval, Pipavav, Mundra, Vadinar, Jakhau and Surat organized events to commemorate the day.
The ICG has consistently encouraged the adoption of yoga amongst its personnel and their families. Integrating yoga into daily physical training routines has proven beneficial for personnel engaged in challenging and high-tempo operational roles, contributing to enhanced flexibility, strength, balance and mental clarity.
In the run-up to the celebrations, the ICG launched daily yoga practice sessions from 16th June 2025, with the aim of fostering a culture of wellness within its ranks. This year’s observance saw a significant rise in the participation of women and children, further expanding the reach of the initiative. Community outreach programmes were also conducted in the preceding weeks to spread awareness about the benefits of yoga and to encourage greater public involvement.
The events were conducted in a spirit of unity and discipline, underscoring the holistic approach to well-being that yoga embodies.
Through these celebrations, the Indian Coast Guard reaffirmed its commitment to promoting healthy living and mindfulness amongst it’s Personnel and the broader community.
1,000 NCC cadets & armed forces personnel practise yoga
Keeping up the motto of International Day of Yoga 2025 – ‘Yoga for one earth, one health’, 1,000 NCC cadets & armed forces personnel under the ambit of NCC Group HQs, Ahmedabad practised Yoga at 0600 hrs on Friday at NCC Complex, Law Garden. The cadets came from various schools & colleges of Ahmedabad & Gandhinagar and are aged between 13 to 20 years.

Gandhinagar Military Station has also conducted a Central Yoga Event on the occasion of upcoming Yoga Day.
