AHMEDABAD, JULY 12
In a landmark move to streamline the process of articleship placements, the Chartered Accountants Association, Ahmedabad (CAAA), is organising the city’s first-ever Articleship Mela – a structured, offline placement platform that aims to bring together first-year CA students and article-seeking CA firms under one roof here on Monday.
Giving details about the programme, CA Rushabh Shah, President, Chartered Accountants Association said, “Scheduled for Monday, 14th July 2025, at the CAAA Premises, this initiative goes beyond a typical job fair. It introduces a structured matchmaking process, where students are asked to share their preferred practice areas (such as Audit, Taxation, GST, Internal Audit) and geographical preferences, and CA firms register with their own selection filters. Based on this, both parties are mapped through a smart dashboard, allowing for effective shortlisting and on-the-spot interviews during the Mela”.
As per the Chief Coordinator of the Articleship Mela, CA Bishan Shah, “This is a much-needed reform in how article placements are managed. We are eliminating randomness and introducing structure, so that the students are aligned with the right firms and firms meet candidates who are serious, focused, and matched to their requirements. It is a win-win for both the CA aspirants and the CA firms as they will get their needs fulfilled under one roof”.
CAAA Vice President CA Dr Anjali Chokshi said, “The Chartered Accountants Association, Ahmedabad is having over 2,000 members and the third largest one in the nation. More and more women are pursuing CA. However, their strength is only over 40 per cent. We are trying to make equal representation. As far as the need for CAs in the country, the demand is more but the supply is very less.”
Honorary secretaries CA Ashish A Sharma and CA Sulabh U Padshah also spoke on various initiatives of the CAAA, including publication of in-house monthly journal.
The event is free for students, while participating firms are charged a nominal fee of ₹1,000, which provides them with access to the full student database and filtering tools prior to the Mela.
The Chartered Accountants Association, Ahmedabad, with a legacy of over seven decades, continues to lead transformative efforts that empower both professionals and aspiring students. This Articleship Mela is yet another step towards building a more efficient, transparent, and career-focused ecosystem in the CA profession.
