AHMEDABAD, SEPT 9

In keeping with its Responsible Luxury ethos and commitment to Sustainability, ITC Hotels Limited commissioned a 3.3 MW wind farm near Rajkot to power ITC Narmada, Ahmedabad. This renewable energy initiative will augment green power usage for ITC Narmada’s operations, making swift transition to clean energy through wind energy and strengthening the endeavour towards net zero carbon.

The wind farm, owned and operated by ITC Hotels will deliver not only key environmental benefits but also maximise energy cost efficiencies at the hotel. Equipped with next-generation smart turbine technology, the wind farm leverages real-time sensing and adaptive algorithms to optimise energy output.

This development further strengthens ITC Narmada’s pioneering status in Gujarat’s hospitality sector. ITC Narmada is Gujarat’s first USGBC LEED Platinum rating, a global benchmark in sustainable building practices. With a strong focus on renewable energy, water conservation, low-carbon techniques, and circular waste management, ITC Narmada continues to demonstrate how sustainability and luxury hospitality can co-exist.

“The wind energy initiative at ITC Narmada is an addition to our renewable energy portfolio, reinforcing ITCHL’s commitment to sustainable operations. This expansion strengthens our green footprint in the region and accelerates our decarbonisation journey—delivering clean, reliable power into our hospitality infrastructure.” said HC Vinayaka, Vice President-Technical, EHS & Sustainability, ITC Hotels Limited.

“ITC Narmada stands as a beacon of what is possible when environmental stewardship meets luxury hospitality experiences. The new wind energy farm reiterates our commitment towards net zero carbon status and will help  significantly reduce the hotel’s carbon footprint while ensuring consistent, clean power for our operations,” said Akshay Kavra , General Manager, ITC Narmada.

Inspired by the mighty river Narmada and Gujarat’s architectural and cultural grandeur, ITC Narmada offers refined hospitality that draws deeply from nature and the region. The hotel’s latest intervention is also in line with the state’s renewable energy policies and leadership position in clean energy generation and adoption.
