Founded by Agam Shah and Komal Kothari, the academy has grown into a cultural bridge, connecting the timeless spirit of Garba with today’s youth.
Reviving Traditional Styles
At Krishna Garba Academy, preparation for Navratri begins months in advance. Students are introduced to the rich diversity of regional Garba styles—from the royal elegance of Rajwadi and the energetic Kachhi to the rhythmic Surti Dodhiya. Each form is taught with authenticity, ensuring that participants not only dance but also experience the soul of Gujarat’s heritage.
What makes the sessions even more vibrant is the use of traditional props. Beyond the familiar dandiya sticks, dancers explore Garba with dang, chhatri, ghada, kartal, and ghughra, making every performance a colorful and immersive celebration.
