AHMEDABAD, Sept 18

Adani Cement, in partnership with M/s PSP Projects Limited, has etched its name into engineering history by completing the world’s largest raft foundation for a religious structure at Umiya Dham, in Ahmedabad. The record-breaking feat—executed over an uninterrupted 54-hour operation—showcases the company’s hallmark blend of logistical scale, precision engineering, and green innovation.

The Mega Pour in Numbers

  • 24,100 m³ of ECOMaxX M45 low-carbon concrete
  • 3,600 tonnes of cement
  • 26 RMX plants & 285+ transit mixers in coordinated supply
  • 600+ skilled workers & technical experts, working in shifts
  • Continuous monitoring with embedded thermocouples for temperature & durability

The foundation spans 450 ft x 400 ft x 8 ft, built to support 1,551 Dharma Stambhs for the upcoming 504-ft Jagat Janani Maa Umiya Temple—set to be the world’s tallest temple.

Faith Meets Innovation

“This project is more than a record—it is faith expressed through engineering,” said Mr. Vinod Bahety, CEO – Cement Business, Adani Group.

“Umiya Dham will be an iconic spiritual landmark, and its foundation embodies the scale, speed, and sustainability that define Adani Cement. With ECOMaxX, we cut carbon emissions by 60%, proving that innovation and devotion can together create legacies that last generations.”

The ECOMaxX M45 mix incorporated 66% Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCM) and a proprietary Coolcrete formulation, keeping placement temperatures below 28°C to minimize thermal stress. The outcome: an environmentally advanced foundation that aligns with global sustainability goals.

Cultural and Spiritual Significance

Mr. R.P. Patel, President, Vishv Umiya Foundation, remarked:

“This world-record foundation of Jagat Janani Maa Umiya (Parvati) temple is a proud moment for India’s cultural and engineering heritage. Adani Cement’s unmatched expertise made them our natural partner in realising this dream.”

The temple, envisioned as the spiritual nucleus of a 60-acre social and cultural campus in Jaspur, carries an investment of around ₹2,000 crore.

A Legacy of Landmarks

This milestone adds to Adani Cement’s portfolio of engineering triumphs, including Mumbai’s World One Tower and the Chenab Railway Bridge in J&K. With Umiya Dham, the company extends its impact to spiritual infrastructure, underlining its role in shaping India’s architectural, cultural, and sustainable future.

The achievement, witnessed by over 1,000 attendees on-site and 10,000+ viewers online, reinforces Adani Cement’s reputation as a pioneer in mega-project execution and a committed partner in building infrastructure that inspires faith and resilience.
