CaratLane, the leading omnichannel jewellery brand from the House of Tata, celebrated its 17th anniversary in glittering style with the inauguration of its 13th store in Chennai and the 350th across India. The new outlet, located on the bustling Usman Road, was unveiled by Kollywood’s rising star and CaratLane’s new brand ambassador, Kayadu Lohar (LEFT), in the presence of Saumen Bhaumik (RIGHT), Managing Director, CaratLane, and senior executives of the company.
Spread across 1,400 sq. ft., the newly opened store features a contemporary design and vibrant ambience aimed at attracting Chennai’s young and style-conscious customers. The city, where CaratLane was founded 17 years ago, continues to be a key growth market for the brand, contributing significantly to its South India expansion.

“We celebrate our 17th anniversary with the launch of this new-format store in the heart of Chennai’s jewellery district, Usman Road. We are delighted to announce our association with Kayadu Lohar, one of the rising stars of Tamil cinema, as our brand ambassador on this momentous occasion. In many ways, this day marks a new beginning for CaratLane in Tamil Nadu, where it all began,” said Saumen Bhaumik, Managing Director, CaratLane.
The company reported that Tamil Nadu’s revenue for FY26 (up to August) has grown nearly 30% year-on-year, with Chennai alone contributing a 33% increase, reaffirming its status as the brand’s anchor market.
Answering media queries, Bhaumik announced that CaratLane is on track to achieve the milestone of 500 stores within a year, emphasizing that 50% of its franchisee partners are women entrepreneurs. The company also plans to expand further into tier-2 and tier-3 towns, introduce regionally inspired designs, and continue investing in technology-driven customer experiences across both online and offline channels.
