The Department of Posts, North Gujarat Region, has launched the ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ from Monday to Sunday -October 27 to November 2, 2025, under the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”

The observance began at the Regional Office in Ahmedabad with Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav administering the Integrity Pledge to officers and employees, urging them to uphold the highest standards of honesty and transparency in public service.
Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Kumar Yadav emphasized that vigilance is not just an administrative mechanism but a moral duty shared by all.
“We must adopt ethical practices in every sphere of our work, remain committed to integrity and transparency, and contribute to eradicating corruption at every level. Each officer should be aware of rules and regulations and act in the best interest of the organization and society,” he said.
He noted that Vigilance Awareness Week is observed annually in the week of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary (October 31), symbolizing integrity, unity, and dedication to the nation. The initiative aims to promote ethical governance, public accountability, and collective responsibility in combating corruption.
Assistant Director Varis M. Vahora informed that the week-long observance will feature a series of programs — including workshops on anti-corruption measures, quizzes and debates for staff, special grievance redressal camps for citizens, and awareness drives at village assemblies across tehsil levels on the adverse effects of corruption.
Several senior officials, including M. M. Shaikh, Pooja Rathore, Chetan Sain, Ram Swaroop Mangawa, Jinesh Patel, Ramesh Patel, and Ronak Shah, joined the pledge ceremony, reaffirming their collective commitment to clean governance.
The Department of Posts reiterated that vigilance and integrity are essential pillars of good governance, and the participation of every employee and citizen is crucial to building a corruption-free India.
