Southern Railway joined the nation in celebrating Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) on Friday, marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, whose vision and leadership were instrumental in the unification of the country.
At the Southern Railway Headquarters, R.N. Singh, General Manager, along with Shri Vipin Kumar, Additional General Manager, and K. Harikrishnan, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, led the officers and staff in taking the Unity Day Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to national integrity and collective strength.
Echoing the spirit of unity and patriotism, similar ceremonies and activities were held across all six divisions, workshops, and field units of Southern Railway. Employees actively participated in the events, paying tribute to Sardar Patel’s monumental contribution in shaping a strong, united India.
The observance underscored Indian Railways’ continued dedication to fostering national integration and solidarity—values that remain central to its service ethos and institutional mission.
