Led by Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian team delivered a commanding performance. Shafali Verma dazzled with a fluent 87, Deepti Sharma anchored the middle overs with 58, and Richa Ghosh’s late flourish ensured a challenging total.
India’s bowlers and fielders then combined precision and passion to outclass South Africa, sending the Wankhede crowd into raptures.
Head Coach Amol Muzumdar, visibly emotional, called it “a watershed moment for Indian cricket.”
