In a major boost to Surat’s smart city ambitions, Ishan Netsol Pvt. Ltd., a leading ICT and digital connectivity solutions provider, has signed a long-term agreement with the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) to provide citywide MPLS Dark Fiber connectivity across 1,000 locations over the next seven years.
The project will serve as the digital nervous system for the city, ensuring seamless integration and real-time functioning of key civic services such as CCTV surveillance, SCADA systems, biometric attendance, and other citizen-centric digital applications. To maintain operational reliability, the initiative includes redundant internet links designed to deliver 99.5% uptime across all connected sites.
With this, Ishan Netsol will create a secure, scalable, and high-performance digital backbone to support SMC’s rapidly evolving e-governance and smart city ecosystem, enabling more efficient, transparent, and technology-driven urban management.
