
- NCC cadets lead a stirring tribute to India’s timeless national song
Patriotic performances, speeches, and collective singing mark the milestone celebration

The NCC Unit of CC Sheth College of Commerce, part of Navgujarat Group of Colleges under 1 GUJ BN NCC, celebrated the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram with an inspiring and patriotic assembly on Wednesday. The ceremony brought together 85 cadets and 12 faculty members, creating a vibrant atmosphere of national pride on campus.
The event began with a floral welcome and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Dr. D. S. Mistry, Principal of the college, along with other dignitaries. Associate NCC Officer Lt. Dr. Jagatrao Dhangar addressed the gathering, reflecting on the historic significance of Vande Mataram—a song that evolved from a literary masterpiece into a resounding call for courage, unity and national awakening during India’s freedom struggle.

Cadets delivered stirring patriotic performances, including solo renditions, a group song by girl cadets, and speeches tracing the song’s powerful legacy. The Principal lauded the NCC unit for organising the meaningful programme and encouraged students to uphold the values of unity, integrity and service to the nation.
The ceremony concluded with a collective, heartfelt singing of Vande Mataram, filling the assembly area with reverence and patriotic spirit. The event wrapped up with a commemorative group photograph, capturing the pride and enthusiasm of the participants.
