The Sardar@150 National Unity March advanced through Anand district on Day 2 with powerful citizen participation, as thousands of padyatris, youth volunteers and local communities joined hands to celebrate the values of unity, discipline and national integration inspired by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The March, organised by MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, continued its onward journey with a day-long programme rich in symbolism, civic engagement and cultural expression.
Day Begins with Community Yoga & Environmental Commitment
The day opened with a Yog Shivir at Napad, where padyatris, MY Bharat volunteers, students and residents performed guided yoga to promote wellness, focus and harmony.
Participants then moved to Smriti Van for ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’, a symbolic plantation activity that reinforced environmental stewardship as a collective duty.
The padyatra proceeded along a 15.7 km route, covering Napad Bus Stop, Anand–Umeta Road, Khadol, Asodar, Mujkuva and concluding at Anklav Bus Station. MY Bharat teams remained deployed throughout the stretch, managing hydration points, safety and coordination.

Sardar Gatha Highlights Sardar–Gandhi Bond
A key highlight was Sardar Gatha at Asodar – ITI Anklav, themed “Sardar: Gandhi’s Steadfast Companion.” The programme began with Deep Pragtya and a Sanman Samaroh recognising contributions from local artisans and workers.
Dignitaries present included , along with senior state and district officials.
Addressing the gathering, Governor R N Ravi offered a stirring tribute to Sardar Patel’s nation-first ideals. He recalled India’s resolute leadership during Operation Sindoor and Dharm Dhvaj, underscoring their alignment with Sardar’s vision of unity and civilisational confidence.
He emphasised that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat@2047 vision demands the sankalp of every citizen, noting that a developed India will emerge only when each individual upholds their duty with sincerity. The audience responded with spirited chants of “Jai Sardar,” infusing the event with patriotic fervour.
Exhibition Showcases Sardar Patel’s Civic Leadership
At Anklav Bus Station, an exhibition titled “Sardar as Mayor – Building Modern AhmedaGovernor R N Ravi, Prof S P Singh Baghel, B L Verma and Darshana Jardoshbad” was inaugurated. Displaying rare archival material, it shed light on Sardar Patel’s transformative role in municipal governance and his foundational contributions to shaping modern Ahmedabad.
Cultural Evening Strengthens Community Bonds
The day was scheduled to conclude with a Gram Sabha followed by a traditional Dayro, celebrating Gujarat’s folk traditions through music and storytelling—bringing padyatris, volunteers and residents together in a shared cultural space.
March Carries Forward Sardar Patel’s Legacy
The Sardar@150 National Unity March forms a central part of the nationwide commemoration of the Iron Man’s 150th birth anniversary. Through padyatras, exhibitions, youth-driven programmes and cultural events, MY Bharat continues to inspire reflection on Sardar Patel’s enduring contributions to unity, administration and nation-building.
Day 3 will commence from Hare Krishna Temple, Anklav, proceeding towards Aarana Lawns, Sevasi, as padyatris gear up for another day of collective engagement and homage to Sardar’s timeless ideals.
