Ahmedabad came alive with patriotism and collective resolve as more than 24,000 runners participated in the 9th Adani Ahmedabad Marathon, held at the Sabarmati Riverfront Sports Park. Driven by the purpose-led theme #Run4OurSoldiers, the marathon stood as a powerful tribute to India’s Armed Forces—made even more poignant in the backdrop of Operation Sindoor.

The event was flagged off by Pranav Adani, Director, Adani Enterprises Ltd.; Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor; Major General Gaurav Bagga; fitness icon and actor-presenter Mandira Bedi; Olympic medalist and Padma Shri Gagan Narang; actor-producer and Indian Olympic Association Vice President Preeti Jhangiani; and designer Aaquib Wani. Also present was India cricketer and Gujarat Giants signee Yastika Bhatia.

With over 4,000 defence personnel and police officers running alongside thousands of citizens, the marathon symbolised unwavering solidarity with India’s protectors.

Participants competed across the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K routes, passing iconic city landmarks such as the Gandhi Ashram, Atal Bridge, and Ellis Bridge. The official marathon jersey, designed by Aaquib Wani, carried the essence of courage and national spirit.

With a prize pool exceeding ₹40 lakh, the marathon honoured excellence across open and age-group categories.

Recognised by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) and listed by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) for its global-standard course measurement and event quality, the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon continues to cement Ahmedabad’s status as a major sporting hub.

Adani Sportsline reaffirmed its commitment to fostering India’s sporting culture through inclusive, large-scale participation events.

Pranav Adani said, “Since 2017, the Ahmedabad Marathon has become a landmark event embraced by our beloved city. This year, the message of #Run4OurSoldiers resonated even more deeply as our Armed Forces stood tall during Operation Sindoor. The participation of over 24,000 runners shows how the event has grown into a movement the city proudly owns.”

Major General Gaurav Bagga said, “The Adani Ahmedabad Marathon is more than a sporting event but it is a living testament to the enduring bond between the Armed Forces and the citizens we serve… In every stride, one could feel the pulse of a nation moving forward together.”

Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor said, “This event is a testament to the importance we place on fitness… A truly memorable experience today, set against the stunning backdrop of the beautiful Sabarmati Riverfront.”

Mandira Bedi said, “The Adani Ahmedabad Marathon is a wonderful tribute to our Armed Forces and the spirit of service they represent… I am proud to be associated with an initiative that brings people together for such a meaningful celebration.”

Adani Sportsline extended special gratitude to AMC, the police, emergency services, and medical partners for ensuring seamless and safe execution.
