Reinforcing the importance of preventive healthcare, the Rotary Club of Bhavnagar Vibrant organised a Free Bone Density Test Camp on Wednesday, December 17 at Malayaj Ayurved, offering early detection and expert guidance on bone health to the local community.

The camp, conducted by Dr Kashmira Kothari, was aimed at creating awareness about osteoporosis and other bone-related conditions that often remain undiagnosed until fractures or serious complications occur. The initiative drew an encouraging response, with around 100 people undergoing free bone density testing during the camp.
Highlighting the importance of early screening, Dr Kothari said that timely diagnosis can prevent long-term disability. She stressed that “bone loss is silent in its early stages, and regular screening, balanced nutrition, calcium intake and an active lifestyle play a crucial role in maintaining strong bones.” Participants identified with low bone density were given free medical consultation, counselling on lifestyle modifications, and calcium tablets at no cost.
Addressing the targeted groups—especially women, senior citizens and individuals with sedentary lifestyles—Rotary Club of Bhavnagar Vibrant President Namrita Chadha said the camp was part of the club’s ongoing commitment to preventive healthcare. She noted that “creating awareness and providing access to early diagnosis can significantly improve quality of life and reduce the risk of fractures among vulnerable groups.”
Several participants benefitted from early identification of low bone density, enabling timely medical attention and preventive care. The camp underscored the Rotary Club’s mission to make quality healthcare accessible while promoting awareness-driven, community-focused wellness initiatives.
