The Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), under the Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER), marked its Silver Jubilee, celebrating 25 years of man-making excellence in management and healthcare education. The milestone event reflected the institution’s enduring mission to shape ethical leaders, responsible managers and socially conscious professionals through innovative pedagogy, impactful research and deep industry engagement.
The day-long celebrations brought together eminent academicians, policymakers, industry leaders, alumni, faculty members and students, underscoring FMS’s sustained commitment to academic rigour, leadership development and societal contribution. Over the past quarter century, the department has consistently aligned management education with healthcare realities and national priorities.

Celebrating a Legacy of Purposeful Education
Samyuktha Venkataachalam, Trustee, Sri Ramachandra Educational & Health Trust, and Radha Venkataachalam graced the occasion, felicitating alumni and faculty members who have contributed to the department’s growth. A specially curated documentary tracing FMS’s journey and achievements over 25 years was screened, followed by the release of the Silver Jubilee Souvenir and Plaque by Samyuktha.
Thought Leadership and Global Perspectives
Delivering the Inaugural Address, Dr. Uma Sekar, Vice-Chancellor, SRIHER (DU), highlighted the pivotal role of management education in nation-building, ethical governance and inclusive development. The Silver Jubilee Address was delivered by Dr. Jebamalai Vinanchiararchi, Senior Economist and Former Principal Advisor to the Director, UNIDO, Vienna, who spoke on global economic transitions, sustainable development, and the critical role management professionals play in shaping inclusive growth.
Academic Excellence and Industry Relevance
Dr. T. K. Parthasarathy, Professor of Eminence and Chief Advisor (International); Dr. K. V. Somasundaram, Professor of Eminence and Advisor (Academics); Dr. S. Senthil Kumar, Registrar; and CMA Raju Iyer, Former President of ICMAI and Guest of Honour, lauded the department for its consistent academic standards, industry relevance, and values-driven leadership. Collaborators, leading recruiters and distinguished alumni were honoured for their contributions.
A highlight of the academic segment was the release of the book ‘New Economics’, authored by Dr. Jebamalai Vinanchiararchi, and released by CMA Raju Iyer.
Alumni Voices: Leadership in Action
The celebrations culminated with a vibrant Alumni Panel Discussion, moderated by Deepti Praveen Patil, Senior Manager – Product Management, Oracle, Bengaluru. Distinguished alumni from healthcare, technology, operations, HR and academia—including leaders from Kauvery Hospital, Apollo Hospitals, Stanford Health Care (USA), MDRF, Sundaram Medical Foundation, Viveks Limited, and premier management institutions—shared insights on career journeys, leadership challenges, emerging industry trends, and the formative role of SRIHER in shaping their professional success.
As it enters its next phase, the Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Management Studies reaffirmed its commitment to man-making education—integrating competence with character, and leadership with purpose.
