AHMEDABAD, DEC 29
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah on Sunday addressed ‘Namotsav’, a grand cultural programme based on the life and ideals of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, organised at Anant University, Ahmedabad. He described the event as a powerful artistic narration of how Prime Minister Modi has reshaped and redefined Bharat through vision, integrity and people-centric governance.
Shri Shah said Namotsav reflects how Modi Ji’s life itself has become a source of inspiration, instilling in the minds of 140 crore Indians an unshakeable belief that India will emerge as the world’s leading nation by 2047.

A Life that Redefined the Idea of Bharat
Addressing the gathering, Shri Amit Shah said the programme portrays the life, duties and principles of a leader who, in just 11 years as Prime Minister, has transformed Bharat’s social and economic landscape. He noted that such transformation is possible only when a leader dedicates his entire life to national service, relentlessly experiments with governance models and builds a mass movement around a shared national vision.
He said the idea of Namotsav was conceived to present before the people the extraordinary journey of Shri Narendra Modi, especially when he completed 75 years of life, so that citizens could connect with the values that shaped his leadership.
From Extreme Poverty to Global Recognition
Shri Shah highlighted that Prime Minister Modi’s journey—from a childhood spent in extreme poverty to becoming a global statesman—has turned him into a symbol of hope for the aspirations of 140 crore Indians.
“A person born in a poor family, who once had nothing, has today been honoured with the highest civilian awards of 29 countries. This is not just Modi Ji’s honour; it is the honour of the entire nation,” he said.
He added that such global recognition has inspired millions of children, youth and social workers, making Namotsav a new source of motivation across generations.
Welfare-Led Transformation of Bharat
The Union Home Minister said that instead of harbouring bitterness over poverty, Modi Ji dedicated his life to eradicating it. Through housing, electricity, toilets, clean drinking water, LPG connections, free healthcare up to ₹5 lakh, free food grains and education support, 60 crore poor citizens have been freed from basic survival concerns.
He underlined that in just 11 years, 27 crore people have been lifted above the poverty line, calling it an unparalleled welfare transformation in independent India.
“A man who does not even own a room of his own has ensured homes for four crore families. This is the moral strength behind Modi Ji’s leadership,” Shri Shah said.
Gujarat Model that Changed National Governance
Recalling Prime Minister Modi’s tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Shah said his assumption of office on 7 October 2001 marked the beginning of a new governance era. Despite never having contested even a sarpanch election, Modi Ji became Chief Minister and went on to create a nationally acclaimed model of good governance.
He cited initiatives like Jyotigram Yojana, which ensured 24-hour electricity to every village in Gujarat—an achievement that was unprecedented in India at the time.
24 Years of Uninterrupted Public Service
Shri Amit Shah said that from 7 October 2001 to 28 December 2025, Prime Minister Modi has not taken a single day off, working tirelessly day and night for the nation.
“For 24 years, without rest and without pause, Modi Ji has dedicated himself to the mission of placing Bharat at the highest pedestal in the world. His life is a living inspiration for the country’s youth and future generations,” he said.
The Namotsav celebrations at Anant University will continue for three days, with experts and thought leaders from various fields reflecting on the life, leadership and legacy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi—a leader who has fundamentally modified Bharat’s journey from aspiration to achievement.
