In a major step towards strengthening preventive healthcare and early cancer detection, Jenburkt Pharmaceuticals Limited has launched India’s first mobile cancer screening van capable of screening 10 different types of cancer in Gujarat. The pioneering initiative, named the Jenburkt ASHA Van, was inaugurated by the Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel, and will be managed by the Indian Red Cross Society, Bhavnagar District.
Conceptualised and donated by Jenburkt Pharmaceuticals, the ASHA Van brings advanced cancer diagnostic services—earlier available only at leading tertiary hospitals—directly to underserved and rural communities, significantly improving access to timely screening and care.
Advanced Screening at the Community Level
The ASHA Van enables screening for breast, cervical, oral, blood, prostate, testicular, pancreatic, liver, colorectal and lung cancers, addressing some of the most prevalent and life-threatening cancers in India. The mobile unit is equipped with world-class medical technology, including a full mammography unit, thermogrid technology and integrated IT systems, ensuring accurate diagnostics, seamless data management and timely follow-up.
Designed with patient dignity and comfort at its core, the van offers on-site screening, immediate counselling, specialist consultations, referral support and tele-counselling, transforming early detection into a coordinated continuum of cancer care.
Addressing a Critical Regional Health Need
Speaking at the inauguration, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel, said, “There are high incidences of oral cancer cases across the Saurashtra region, making this initiative extremely valuable for prevention and early screening. Furthermore, if this mobile unit is deployed across various districts of Gujarat, it will significantly benefit citizens by enabling timely detection and early intervention. I congratulate the Jenburkt team on this extraordinary initiative.”
Patient-First Approach to Cancer Care
Ashish U Bhuta, Chairman and Managing Director, Jenburkt Pharmaceuticals, said, “Cancer does not discriminate by geography but access to screening does. The ASHA Van reflects our Patient First philosophy and delivers the same high-quality diagnostics trusted by India’s leading cancer institutes because early diagnosis saves lives and livelihoods.”
Red Cross Partnership Strengthens Outreach
Highlighting the humanitarian impact, Dr Milan Dave, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, Bhavnagar, noted, “This initiative brings hope, dignity and advanced screening to communities that need it most. Mobile screening has the potential to save hundreds of lives annually across the district.”
Echoing this, Mr Sumit Thakkar, Vice Chairperson, Indian Red Cross Society, Bhavnagar District Branch, stated, “Our association with Jenburkt has created an unprecedented healthcare resource for Bhavnagar by bringing advanced screening directly to communities with limited access.”
Accessible, Affordable and Impact-Driven
Jenburkt Pharmaceuticals Limited, a Mumbai-headquartered company with over four decades of presence in Gujarat, is known for quality-driven innovation, ethical practices and patient-focused healthcare solutions. Under this initiative, screening services will be offered free or at nominal cost across Bhavnagar district, supported by community-based outreach programmes.
The launch of the Jenburkt ASHA Van marks a significant milestone in India’s cancer prevention journey, demonstrating how corporate commitment, medical innovation and humanitarian partnerships can converge to save lives through early detection.
